Onboard Experiences
If you’re looking for an all-inclusive experience on your Carnival cruise, there are some upgrade options available that include alcoholic drinks. Depending on your selected stateroom category and accommodation package, you may also receive additional perks such as priority boarding or upgraded stateroom amenities like complimentary wifi or access to priority restaurants and lounges. When you’re comparing costs between the two vacations, remember to include airfare.

The Main Dining Room will please those looking for the quintessential cruise experience, with nightly three-course meals, sea day brunch, and a sit-down option for breakfast on port days.
Then, you can probably enjoy the whole cruise without paying anything extra. Those costs can add up if you aren’t expecting them – for a family of four in a standard stateroom cruising for 7 days, that’s $448 you need to pay. And this will be added to your account on the second last night, so you’ll need to pay it before you disembark.
We still prefer cruising just for the fact that it allows us to be in a different port several times during the vacation rather than just at one place. I've done both, and was not at all impressed with an all inclusive resort. I thought the quality of food and drinks was less than that of Carnival. (I'm always amazed at the people who bash Carnival for their food!) I also like the variety of activities offered and the wonder of having new ports or days at sea, as opposed to staying "put" for the duration. I know there are many who prefer all inclusives, but I'm not one of them.
